" When I dance, I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole, that is why I dance."
- Hans Bos

New Moon Wednesday

Wednesday, May 16th marks the New Moon in Taurus- known as the "Creator Moon"- a time to a set your intention to manifest something new for the next month. Maybe that's the positive symbol we can find from these recent destructive fires- time to clear away the old and begin creating something new.

It is not too late to create a spring/summer fitness program kicking it off this week with Bike to Work Week. The official Bike to Work DAY is this Friday, May 18th- so come on, hop on your bike, pedal your way to Heartbeat House, and join the $5 Community Yoga Class (Friday 9:00 AM) and really get a kick start on your summer creation: a new, healthy, fit, happy you!

Bike in Los Angeles? No way.
Yes way: 5 Reasons to Bike in L.A.

1. There is no other major city with more bike-friendly weather than Los Angeles. We have mild weather year round that is classified as "mediterranean"- warm winters, moderate dry summers, alarmingly little rain. What better way to enjoy our amazing weather- don't take it for granted!

2. Of course, the environment! Even though we might have great weather, nobody can ignore our brown cloud of pollution. Every little bit helps- do what you can and stop driving that gas guzzling, toxic exhaust- emitting machine!

3. The pleasure of avoiding traffic and parking- discover a different Los Angeles as you pedal your way down side streets, moving faster than traffic on the busier main streets or freeway. And spending time looking for parking or wasting money on parking tickets? No Way!

4. The exercise! There's no better way to get your heart and legs into tip top shape than steering your way down side streets and empty sidewalks as you commute to work.

5. The feeling- There is something about jumping on a bike that makes you feel like a 5 year old again. I think we could all use that feeling a little more in our lives. Go ahead, take a ride.
